Warranty Details of YU – Customer Support & Service Locations

YU now offers repair service via its service centers as well. Read on for the details and locations.
YU is the sister company of Micromax founded by Rahul Sharma who is also the co-founder of Micromax. The company initially started selling cell-phones, but later moved into wearable and other cell phone accessories (speakers, cameras; etc). As the devices start selling, there’s is a need for proper customer service and in this post, you’ll find nearly everything you’d wanna know about the service and repair of your YU device.

What is covered under Warranty & for How Long?

As with nearly all the mobile companies, the YU devices are covered under manufacturer warranty. The warranty period is calculated from the date of your purchase (invoiced date) and not on the date when you first started using it. Warranty duration is mentioned below:

  • Mobile Phone – 1 year (12 months)
  • Accessories (Battery, Charger, USB, Earphones; etc) – 6 months

Rooting, Unlocking the Bootloader, Flashing a custom ROM will all be covered under warranty except for the following situations under which the warranty will be void.

  • Any kind of water damage.
  • Any kind of accidental damage.
  • Any kind of damage arising through wear and tear or rough usage of the product.

In case of any problems, you can contact the YU customer service. However, for order and delivery related issues, you should contact Amazon or Snapdeal directly.

YU Service Center Locations

Initially, YU only offered service and support via its helpline and only doorstep service was provided. But YU recently announced the introduction of over 825 authorized service centers across the country where the customers can get their YU products serviced.

Just open the link above and scroll down where you need to select your state and city. A list of service centers in that locality will be presented. Most of these service centers are already providing service for Micromax phones and are just expanding to include YU products.

How to get my YU Product Serviced?

If you are facing an issue with your YU product (Yureka, Yuphoria, Yunique, Yupix, Yufit) or accessories, you can either move to a service center (details in the section above) or choose doorstep service. Process for doorstep service is mentioned below.

  1. Contact customer support via phone or email. (Details are provided in the beginning of the post).
  2. Depending on the training level of the representative, you’d be asked to do a couple of troubleshooting steps which may help in reviving your smartphone. If no, proceed.
  3. YU support will mark the issue and assign a ticket number for the device to be picked up and repaired/replaced.
  4. If your city/pin code is covered under their doorstep replacement, your phone will be picked up and a replacement will be provided. If it is not, you’d be asked to courier the device to be repaired or replaced.
  5. Your phone is replaced at your doorstep or repaired/replaced and sent back to you (depending on the availability of doorstep replacement).

The warranty of the replaced/repaired handset will valid for 12 months from the date of original purchase and not the replacement date.

  • I gave my phone to the service centre and they sent it to the company now it’s more than a month. I want to know when it’ll get back to me.

    • No, unfortunately it cannot be tracked. You may still try approaching the police. Maybe they’ll be able to help.

  • this phone is hanging most of the time. if mobile network is dropping at that time it hangs so much.. plz tell me the reason and battery backup is very poor.

  • I baught YU5510A on 22/01/2016.It is with your care center at M/S Khurana Mobile Bhiwani since 02/06/2016. Job sheet no 2122107-0616-23677929. It is not repaired nor replaced by now.I want my refund of Rs. 10550/- My contact no is 09416456973.

  • I bought my YUPHORIA on 2nd sept,2016 and due to some display issues i gave it to the service centre of MICROMAX, Aundh,Pune ( F TECH SERVICES) on 3rd October.

    I was told that my phone will be repaired within a week ( as the part from the company arrives ) ,but then they told me that the phone has gone to the company for change of touch pad.

    It has been more than 45 days they didn’t tell me anything about the phone.
    Then on 15th November they handed me a very old shabby phone which had the same IMEI no. as mine .How is it possible ???? My phone was just a month old.

    They literally changed the IMEI no. of some other phone to mine ( as the black sticker below the battery showed ) and when I inquired they told me that the phone was changed by the company and they have nothing to do with the matter.
    (How can the company be so irresponsible and how can the service centre guys so ignorant to the customer) . I asked them to talk to the company so they assured me that they would write a mail and get my phone changed within 25th.

    So I went to them today (25th oct. ) , they told me that the company has not replied anything in those 10 days.
    I think they are just puzzling me around all these days and there is some kind of forgery being done.

    I strongly feel that the company should look into the matter as this will strongly affect the image of the company and will destroy all kind of trust relationship with the customer.

    I request you to please look into the matter ASAP.

  • I had the complaint against the touch pad, after one week i got the msg “dear customer, with ref. To job sheet NO40504101626202905.
    Your device is ready at our service centre plz contact” so i received my device. Now touch pad is working fine but my phone housing has been changed with Old phone because when i saw my phone that is scratched all over the body. So i told him and he replied it is about to delay for your part from my “HO” so please take it & use your phone your part will receive with in a week and we will inform you and will be replaced hand to hand now time is over. And today again i reached to service centre. So he told me again come in 2nd week. So please do in urgently I’m suffered with in one month.

  • I start the INTERNET than my phone go to cynogen mode and restart to every 5 minute. I am not access any service of internet. Please give me suggestion.
