YU now offers repair service via its service centers as well. Read on for the details and locations.
YU is the sister company of Micromax founded by Rahul Sharma who is also the co-founder of Micromax. The company initially started selling cell-phones, but later moved into wearable and other cell phone accessories (speakers, cameras; etc). As the devices start selling, there’s is a need for proper customer service and in this post, you’ll find nearly everything you’d wanna know about the service and repair of your YU device.

What is covered under Warranty & for How Long?

As with nearly all the mobile companies, the YU devices are covered under manufacturer warranty. The warranty period is calculated from the date of your purchase (invoiced date) and not on the date when you first started using it. Warranty duration is mentioned below:

  • Mobile Phone – 1 year (12 months)
  • Accessories (Battery, Charger, USB, Earphones; etc) – 6 months

Rooting, Unlocking the Bootloader, Flashing a custom ROM will all be covered under warranty except for the following situations under which the warranty will be void.

  • Any kind of water damage.
  • Any kind of accidental damage.
  • Any kind of damage arising through wear and tear or rough usage of the product.

YU Service Center Locations

Initially, YU only offered service and support via its helpline and only doorstep service was provided. But YU recently announced the introduction of over 825 authorized service centers across the country where the customers can get their YU products serviced.

Just open the link above and scroll down where you need to select your state and city. A list of service centers in that locality will be presented. Most of these service centers are already providing service for Micromax phones and are just expanding to include YU products.

How to get my YU Product Serviced?

If you are facing an issue with your YU product (Yureka, Yuphoria, Yunique, Yupix, Yufit) or accessories, you can either move to a service center (details in the section above) or choose doorstep service. Process for doorstep service is mentioned below.

  1. Contact customer support via phone or email. (Details are provided in the beginning of the post).
  2. Depending on the training level of the representative, you’d be asked to do a couple of troubleshooting steps which may help in reviving your smartphone. If no, proceed.
  3. YU support will mark the issue and assign a ticket number for the device to be picked up and repaired/replaced.
  4. If your city/pin code is covered under their doorstep replacement, your phone will be picked up and a replacement will be provided. If it is not, you’d be asked to courier the device to be repaired or replaced.
  5. Your phone is replaced at your doorstep or repaired/replaced and sent back to you (depending on the availability of doorstep replacement).

The warranty of the replaced/repaired handset will valid for 12 months from the date of original purchase and not the replacement date.

  • I bought my YUPHORIA on 2nd sept,2016 and due to some display issues i gave it to the service centre of MICROMAX, Aundh,Pune ( F TECH SERVICES) on 3rd October.

    I was told that my phone will be repaired within a week ( as the part from the company arrives ) ,but then they told me that the phone has gone to the company for change of touch pad.

    It has been more than 45 days they didn’t tell me anything about the phone.
    Then on 15th November they handed me a very old shabby phone which had the same IMEI no. as mine .How is it possible ???? My phone was just a month old.

    They literally changed the IMEI no. of some other phone to mine ( as the black sticker below the battery showed ) and when I inquired they told me that the phone was changed by the company and they have nothing to do with the matter.
    (How can the company be so irresponsible and how can the service centre guys so ignorant to the customer) . I asked them to talk to the company so they assured me that they would write a mail and get my phone changed within 25th.

    So I went to them today (25th oct. ) , they told me that the company has not replied anything in those 10 days.
    I think they are just puzzling me around all these days and there is some kind of forgery being done.

    I strongly feel that the company should look into the matter as this will strongly affect the image of the company and will destroy all kind of trust relationship with the customer.

    I request you to please look into the matter ASAP.

  • I had the complaint against the touch pad, after one week i got the msg “dear customer, with ref. To job sheet NO40504101626202905.
    Your device is ready at our service centre plz contact” so i received my device. Now touch pad is working fine but my phone housing has been changed with Old phone because when i saw my phone that is scratched all over the body. So i told him and he replied it is about to delay for your part from my “HO” so please take it & use your phone your part will receive with in a week and we will inform you and will be replaced hand to hand now time is over.   • I submitted my mobile at 02 march at Pune service center as it suddenly stopped working and became dead. After almost 50 days the return my moblie saying that it has been repaired, but the problem didnt get sorted and it gets dead only in 3-4 hours after I received my device. When I submited my device on 2 nd march, it was in warranty and the company wasted 50 days of my warranty and they have given the same unrepaired mobile .They are not ready to provide me a new phone nor they are extending the warranty.     I had purchased the yureka YU (micromax co.) on date 26/04/2015 from Amazon. I had used this phone for one year. On date 21/05/2016 (within 20 days of expiring warranty period.) , there is problem occurred in mobile, it stuck on YU symbol & failed to power on. I had submitted the mobile to micromax service center M/s. NOVA Services at Nagpur with jobsheet no.2122047-0516-23507836 on dt. 23/05/2016. As per mentioned service center, they sent that mobile for repair to micromax Delhi office. On dt. 31/05/2016 mentioned service center told me (ON PHONE) that, my submitted YU mobile can’t repair, & told me to pick up & take home the same.
    Here I had lot of question about the service provided by yu micromax. I don’t know how micromax service center people from Nagpur & Delhi office(main office) failed to repair their design design & manufactured mobile? Is that service provided by micromax. The fault occurred in mobile within 20 days of expiring warranty period. If all customer gets such problem within such period after buying such costly mobile, then what will do by customer? Is that company policy for customer to buy new mobile every year?

  • I bought YU Yureka in Feb 2015. They replaced my phone 3 time in one year because of different issue each time. Each time I received a replacement, the device was in worst condition then the previous one. Finally I have to reject the replacement because it was unusable at all. They sent me a device which was short circuited in charging port.
    Finally I have no options other then selling this phone to some phone repair shop.
    I don’t recommend anyone to buy YU phone.

  • I purchased yu plus device in the month of Sep. Very next month device display was broken I contact yu customer care and they pick up the device 5th Nov 2015 personally. They returned my devices on 22 Feb 2016 with different IMI no. Again device touch pad was not working I send it back through micromax service centre on 9 April 2016 and received back 5 April 2016 again they send me faulty device with different IMI No. which was not charging.I send it back in micromax service center on dated 6 April 2016 when I inquired about the device regarding different IMI No. I shocked we not repaired the device we send it yu service centre & every time they send used devices. I purchased the device at Rs. 9000 & display damage pay Rs.3000 when I pay desplay damage amount they should return me same device. Almost I used 1 Month yu plus device and 6 month it in sevice centre.

    So my dear friends yu plus is one of the froud company don’t buy any device from this company. My 12 thousands gone but my intention is doing not west your money because buying yu plus means facing problem in features.

    Still my device is service centre. Hope after reading this they will send me Good condition device.

    My strong request is to company owners stop to manifacture the device because the technology is very poor so customer facing lot of problems.

  • This may probably be worst service from a phone company. Many said dont trust micromax. I still bought it and it happened to me. They ignored my phone like anything. And was kept in the service center for 25 days without any acknowledgement of status of whatever was going on over there.. And after calling their number, they kept me waiting for 55 mins to pick up the calls. I feel like the company is fraud. They cheat people every time . I want to take them to consumer court . They dont feel any shame on delay in there service . The company treat people as fools.

  • In Replacement I got a YU5010A yuphoria Android Mobile instead of YU5010 Yuphoria cyanogen. I visited to your service center and make the yuphoria android to Yuphoria cyanogen 12.0. After that I got System Update CM 12.1 increment in Mobile. And I am trying to Update mobile. But It downloaded successfully CM 12.1 increment in mobile but it is not installing in mobile.

  • Feeling frustrated … Yu Yuphoria stopped functioning since December 2015. As per customer service , they agreed to replace and Waybill for exchange generated on 15th December 2015. But, till date ( 16th Feb 2016) , i haven’t received it. Whenever i contact customer care, they ask me to wait for another 10 days. ticket id : 1786613 .   • I bought YU Yureka and had some software issue. I complained regarding this issue to YU Customer support and they promised me to replace my device but its not yet replaced.
    I submitted the Device @ Micromax Service Center on 7th Dec Ref no 1968611 regards to the discussion we had on Job Sheet No : N050029-1215-21001017 and till today they dont have any update where is the device as they say they can track Micromax but not YU Phones as they just collect and send forward.

    I was informed that my parcel will be delivered by courier company but no update till.
    YU customer care number whenever I call tells to wait another 15 Days.
    I am really tired and frustated the way the support is. Is anywhere I can put this forward.

      I have also facing same problem like Devesh And Naaz. It showing charger is connected but not getting charge. I have tried from another chargers too. It is charging from my Samsung charger @ very poor rate.Even if I left charger connected over night though the battery would charge upto 35%.

      I tried to call center but never got connected. At last I drop a mail to customer support after 2 mails they stop replying mail.I am continuously following up putting reminder but not getting any response from team.

  • My camera, or Google play service or the screen lock stops working at any time! This irritates me a lot!
    “This song cannot be played.” This comes written for every 5th song in the playlist, then I have to skip it n continue listening..
    Sometimes the phone supports earphones, the most of times, I connect it but still it’s not connected, so I have to switch the phone off n switch on it again.
    Sometimes I can’t hear other person’s voice on call, but the balnce is deducted! Then I have to switch if off again n restart it!

After uta update my handset front and earphone plugin point has not working well. when I contact YU care they told me reset handset, after all when my problem is not resolved, they told me exchange my handset after 15 days when I asked about my handset replacement they told you address not available for replacement when I changed address they told after 2 days we sent waybill no. but 1 week past they did not generate my waybill no. and when I asked them why my waybill no. not generate they told 2 days more need to generate waybill no.     I Harish Sapariya purhcased yu yureka 0n 26-02-2015, Now contineusly getting charging problem from last couple of days.

    When i pluged charger for charging, the Indication of charging is showing but battery is not charged,

    after 10% of charging again it goes down & down to 0% even if its in pluged.

    from last two days not even 1% is charged, i just spoked to your customer care representative and she guide to contact service centre,

    i got the service centre list from my nearby places but unfortunately all the contact nos are not reachable.

    Please guide what to do…

  • I have Bought YU+ from Amazon, on Sep 06, 2015.
    Besides it’s heating problem, and battery-draining problem,,,, it also started hanging quite often… Although I liked it’s display & sound qualities with other features also….

    And now, After system upgradation, whenever i’ve tried to put a wallpaper on the screen, after some couple of hours, it just hang once & shuts the screen for a minute, and then when it gets open again, it removes my wallpaper, everytime…..

Since that day I am receiving the reply that you will get your mobile within the 15 days ………….. you will get your mobile within the 15 days. Now two months got over. Still I have not yet received my mobile.

    I am announcing to all that don’t purchase any Micromax product. Don’t take any risk when ever you are going to purchase any Micromax product.

  • My name is Arya. I have purchased a yureka plus mobile from amazon on august 2015. I had two sim cards, bsnl and reliance. my yureka plus mobile was not capturing any network coverage for both the sims. For reliance it showed some coverage occasionally. So i contacted yureka plus customer care 18602122122. They told me that there will be some issue with bsnl sim card. So I ran to bsnl office and got a duplicate sim for my phone. Then also it showed no network coverage. I again contacted customer care. They told me that problem is with sim card and to try other sim cards. So i tried airtel, vodaphone and idea on my phone. It dint work. I again contacted yureka plus customer care. They mailed me some steps to solve this so called technical error. I tried that too. It didnt work. Then I again contacted yureka plus customer care and they told me that they will come home and give a replacement for my phone. they guaranteed 15 days. After 15 days I contacted them again and they told me that Trivandrum, my place is not in there door to door service area and so i must go to the nearby service centre and submit my phone. I tried visiting the place and couldnt find any. I gain contacted them back. They told me that they will hire some courier people to collect my phone and once it reach their warehouse I will get the replacement that too within 15 days. After 15 days I again contacted them, and they told me that that policy changed and so I have to visit service centre in the other district that is kollam. I am fed up with this stupid company and now I am going to register a complaint on consumer court against them and meet some media people to make it public.

  • I have never seen such a worst customer service by any Mobile Company..The reply comes very late on mail & too not satisfactory.. You will have to wait for 15 minutes on phone untill your chance comes & that too paid one. Company has no responsibility after selling Yureka & no idea whatever problems customer might face.

    This is the worst experience I faced after buying Yureka phone which has serious charging issues & its still not resolved. My phone is off almost full day due to no charging being taken by phone & it seems I have thrown my 9000 Rs.

    I would never ever let my friends & relatives ever try any phone of this company.

  • We have purchased a YU mobile handset through Amazon vide Invoice No. KA-BLR06-144105041-4548829 dated 24 Sep 2015 (Invoice attached).
    After getting the new SIM activated, we used it for few days and then the Display Touch Screen stopped working.
    We have handed over the handset for repair at your service centre, M/s Sri Sai Telecommunication, Malleswaram, Bangalore on 03 Nov 2015.
    (Job sheet attached)

    Even after one and a half month lapsed, we have not got the handset repaired. When contacted Sri Sai Telecommunication, they informed
    that new handset is being despatched by courier to our address. But the information we got from the Toll Free Number mentioned in the Job
    Sheet is that they “don’t have any updates on this”. Never expected such a lethargic reply/action from a reputed company like Micromax !!!

    Request you to update us on the status of the handset purchased for our employee and do needful at the earliest .

  • Hi, This is regarding my Yu Yunique purchased end september (3 months back.). In November month itself the phone got dead and now not even starting.
    1. On contacting customer care, I was asked to go and check my phone at service station. I went to Micromax service station and I was told that its technical issue the phone is dead and I must contact Yu yunique service center directly.
    2. I registered my complaint for replacement of my device with service center on 26th November.
    3. The way bill number got generated after almost 10 days on 4th December 2015.
    4. Today 19th December I am yet to get my device replacement.
    5. So many phone call followup but I always hear lies that it will take only 7 working days for the device to be replaced but fact is even after a month I have not received my replacement.
    6. This is pure cheating and not inline with company’s much hyped policy of door step device replacement within 7 working days.
    7. I am planning to visit consumer court next week itself as I feel my complete money is wasted in this product

I was told that It will be replaced in 3 to 15 days ( which is very long period just for replacement), I am still expecting call or proper service from you (which is again a Illusion).

  • My yuphoria had a software problem. So after writing many mails they replied after many many days stating we will replace your trans receiver without back panel also. And they gave a tracking details. Now when they told we’ll replace only the receiver what I understood is that they’ll give me a refurbished piece. I want to know clearly what is yu trying to do give me a new piece or a refurbished one??????? Also if they replace only receiver the imei no’s will by changed then in future if any problem how do I claim the warranty if imei no’s are changed. Yu give a clear cut idea.     I am an user of Micromax Yureka plus phone . I had purchased this handset ( YU Yureka Plus- Alabaster White ) on july 24th 2015 from amazon.in, and i am facing issues since the day i got my phone.
    I contacted amazon.in as well as yureka plus customer care center and they assure me an assistance but even after resetting the phone several time, the issue was unresolved.
    After calling numerous times, they took my complaint and got my phone replaced with a new handset.
    I was beyond happy with a new set, thinking that the problem is gone. But it was my misfortune to think so. The phone came with the same issue and i am assuming its a default problem in yureka phones.

    I again contacted amazon.in and they asked me to contact ( yureka Company people) in order to get my money refunded.

    I did the same and contacted ( Yureka helpline ) They rejected my plea and told that they cannot give a DOA certificate which will help me get my money refunded from amazon.in . I am feeling helpless. Please help me out of this situation.

    I am an employee, hence i do not have enough money to buy another handset worth thousands.
    I request you to please look into the matter and help me as i am feeling disappointed after this incident.

    We have bought the YU phone in the month of May 2015 and by the end of August 2015, the phone automatically stopped working today. While contacting the Customer care of YU there was no response for a period of one month and later they responded stating a new battery has been dispatched, kindly chekc with this.

    After checking with the battery still no change and when we wrote back to them still there is no response. I really cannot understand the Service of this company.

    Kindly anyone from the company contact us (9841647502, 9884973483) otherwise we would be forced to take other actions.

        Firstly, I thank the customer support for there response via phone call.

        As advised by them, we checked with the authorized dealer and they mentioned that the phone will not be accounted in warranty as this has been checked by the normal service center. And the charge to repair the phone is Rs. 2250 which is really unacceptable by us as the phone is completely in warranty.

        Since there was no communication from your team end and we had to have a solution for the phone to communicate (also no spare phone) with others we tried to get a solution from the other service center with no success.

        This cost is really unacceptable, so kindly check and help us with the solution.

        Look forward to your immediate response.

        • Please understand that this is the policy of every company. Any unauthorized repair is not allowed and I don’t think you’ll have any luck getting your phone fixed for free. Still, you should try contacting the helpline.

  • This is a third class product, i bought one yuphoria one month back and that got faulty before few days. i contacted to the service center and i was shocked with their reply (you will not get your device before one day, sometimes it takes two months also). after that i mailed to the reply by the yu support team was also shocking that (Please co-operate with our service center, this is our company protocol and we can not do with the timing). Now i want to ask to yu team that one month time to repair a newly bought handset is the revolution to Indian Market….????

    • just go to display and lights in settings and then cturnoff the brightness based on day light option it will solved I am also have such issues.

    • It is normal for a phone to heat up when used. Do not worry and continue using. You might want to underclock the processor a bit if you can’t bear the heat.

  • Phone is 70 % good but there are some issue with services, they are not providing proper services. As i have problem with hardware issue still they are suggesting me to flash your phone and after that we can go to the next step. Without flashing they will not providing further services and still i’m facing issue with my phone but no one is responding from there.

    Also, I am told that “actual service centres” will never give me replacement. How is this for Customer (non)support..

    My YU Yureka phone is not working properly. Screen blackouts as the call came. I can’t even see the caller’s name. Calls drop frequently (no network issues). And I don’t understand how on the earth a phone with 64-bit octa processor and 2 Gb RAM can hang! but yes, it does hang almost all the time.
