Microsoft Lumia 535 Launched in India for ₹9199 – Where to buy?

Microsoft has today launched the Lumia 535 in India which is the first mobile device to sport the Microsoft branding replacing Nokia. We already shared the specifications and availability of the Lumia 535 when it was announced. So check there if you’re looking for the specifications of the phone.

Coming to the topic of the post, dual-sim Microsoft Lumia 535 will start selling in the Indian market by the end of this week. It is officially priced at ₹9199 which is somewhat higher than the ₹8500 that I was expecting. Nevertheless, the new pricing ain’t much higher than that and because it is the launch price, it won’t be surprising if the phone starts selling for around ₹8500 or lower after a month or two. Microsoft is also giving a high priority to the Indian market making India the first market to receive the stocks of Lumia 535.Lumia 535 official render

I’ve previously compared it with the Lumia 530 and Lumia 525. Undoubtedly, it is the better one of the two and dual-sim, decent cameras and big display and battery really make it stand out. Hoping that Microsoft will do something about the situation of care centers as a lot of Nokia Care ones have already closed or shifted to servicing other mobiles. It is a decent purchase otherwise.

Where to buy Lumia 535 in India

The Lumia 535 will be available throughout the retail market with the stocks evenly made available to both online and offline retailers. While the initial stock arriving in India is on the lower side, we still need to see how good the handset performs in the market. Performance and demand will an important factor affecting the availability of the stock.

Online

Flipkart is already taking pre-orders of the Lumia 535 and you can pre-order yours by paying the full price of ₹9199. To pre-order, head to the Flipkart product page. All colors viz Black, White, Green and Orange are listed for pre-order as of now.

Amazon.in has also started taking preorders for ₹9199. Launch date is stated to be December 10 which ain’t far.

Update: Nokia Store now has the Lumia 535 in stock. So you can purchase from there as well.

Some sellers on Snapdeal are also selling the phone. The current price seems higher than the suggested, but it may keep on fluctuating, so do check.

It will surely be made available via the other online retailers as the stocks arrive.

Offline

If you’re looking to make your Lumia 535 purchase at a retail store, wait for the stocks to arrive and head over to Nokia Priority Stores or other multi-product retail stores. Consumer demand may force more and more stores to stock the model.

  • My camera app is not working it keeps going back to the start screen will they service my phone in a nokia service centre?

    • Yes they will. In fact, Nokia Care is in the process of being renamed as Microsoft Care. So its all the same 😛

    • It is not available in Nepal as of now. however, if you know somebody from India, maybe he/she can buy and send it to you. Otherwise you need to wait for it to be made available there. Nokia/Microsoft Stores might be able to provide an estimate about the availability.

    • Releasing by Early December 2014. So it should release towards the beginning days of December, hence about 15 days from today should be enough for it to be delivered to most locations. Rest will only be known when the deliveries actually happen.
You can buy from Nokia Shop just in case you need it in urgency.

      • 1 year back when they announced Lumia 520, I ordered it online from Nokia store (http://nokia.indiatimes.com) because it was not available anywhere. But even after waiting 15 days they didn’t shipped the phone. So I cancelled the order and went for another phone. So, if Nokia store says in-stock doesn’t mean they have it in stock!

        • Actually, the import entries that are made during custom clearance show some stock arrival in the country and because Flipkart ain’t selling it yet, it surely went to Nokia Shop. There are always some bad experiences 🙂

    • I don’t think single-sim version is coming to India. During the launch event here, only the dual-sim version was announced and the pricing for the same was stated.
