Microsoft recently announced the newest member of the Lumia family i.e.  the Lumia 535 and here we are trying to determine the best one among Lumia 525, Lumia 530 and the new Lumia 535. Primary basis will be the specs and price as the features offered in Windows Phone devices generally remain the same.

 Which One to Buy?

Lumia 525, Lumia 530 and Lumia 535 are all decent smartphones, but because price is a factor too, the Lumia 525 becomes pretty irrelevant and doesn’t remain a good buy unless its price fells by over ₹1500 ($25) or so. Lumia 535 is really a nice contender at its price and can be called a decent upgrade to the Lumia 525 (and 520). Features such as the 5MP front (selfie) camera with Wide-Angle lens and the big 5-inch display is really gonna roll some eyes towards it.

Lumia 530 on the other hand provides what it can for its price and can be a good buy for the first time smartphone users or those who don’t do a lot with their smartphones. If you’re looking to purchase the Lumia 530, do give a second thought to the Nokia Lumia 520 which sells nearly for the same price now and brings in a better camera, more in-built storage and goodies such as Double Tap to Wake. The display of Lumia 520 is also better than the Lumia 530, but it does lack the Dual-SIM option which can be make or break for some.

  • 535 is good phone. Value for money. No doubt, any other android phones can’t perform like this, with the same price.

  • am a lumia sufferer , unless u r a hardcore fan of nokia , dont buy this phone , as it cant play all formats of videos , unable to open pdf files which are more than 50 mb
am still using lumia 530 , didnt find solutions for this , waste of money , better u can buy some other good phone at the same price , the only good things are ,good secuirity than any other android phone , good camera , good battery , wont hangs at all as it wont play mkv files , but hangs when u play temple run2

    • You can play mkv using MoliPlayer available in the store and VLC Player is just on the verge of appearing in the Windows Phone Store. I agree that the phone and OS is pretty limited, but the price point affects that too.

    • It certainly is and that’s why it is priced higher than these 🙂 Sounds like you are a Windows fan 🙂

  • I am using 525 since Feb. That is my first mobile ever. It really is a good one except I broke my earphone in anger because of my Ex. I wonder if I can get an earphone for similar model.

    • The same ones might not be sold in the market. You can get better ones if you just look at the available options 🙂

      • Hmm I’d have, but considering it is a way older, much similar to 525 and due to lack of space in the table, I decided to keep it away. It (520) definitely is a better buy than the 530 in any case, provided you get it at a good price 🙂 And IDK what basis Nokia/Microsoft use to define the model number.
Thanks for your input BTW. I have edited the post a bit to give some much needed attention to the Lumia 520 (which it deserves).
