AVG is among the worst. Can’t distinguish what is virus and what is not. It has forced me to reinstall the windows(all the windows file are deleted) Waste of download

Haven’t faced anything like that. Your system files were probably already infected. So AVG flagged them.

Shadow drives man thats where the viruses like to hide even fresh copy of windows can get infected easy ! full format and only then … is eradicated ! (that is how ) πŸ˜€ (from expirience)

Same here. AVG never failed when I used it.
But I’ve also lived for over 2 years now without any AV on my system. I’ve learnt how to stay secure πŸ˜‰

Are these comments for real? look like they are made up to me.

    • Narender Singh November 10, 2014 at 7:12 pm #

Yes they are. At least I haven’t faked anything here. Rest is upto you to trust or not. This post hopefully takes the 1st spot on search and there’s quite some traffic coming in. So some comments like this seem normal to me πŸ™‚

Doesn’t know why all like AVG. I already said it is among the worst beside AVIRA and AVAST.

  9. SΓ©rgio November 21, 2014 at 2:24 am #

Avast is heavy on the ram, the more the pc has, the more avast want. 3 times avira has messed up my windows with detection of false positives in windows folder, two of them in a fresh installed pc without internet connection

Avg has outperformed all the others for me. as for the one who is having trouble, I am sure the computer was messed up pretty bad before the avg install.

    • Narender Singh December 5, 2014 at 7:04 pm #

Exactly. Majority of us only look for AVs when the system is baldly infected. As they say, prevention is better than cure, Installing an AV in advance is what should be done πŸ™‚
