TRAI has also asked all the operators to limit a maximum of 100 SMS per day. So, you cannot take the full benefit of unlimited SMS packs. Its better to switch to cheaper rate SMS packs rather than unlimited SMS packs.
The SMS pack of Rs. 6 introduced recently by Docomo allows the user to send all local+national SMS at a cheap rate of 5 paise (Rs. 0.05)/ SMS for full 30 days.
Suitability:
The plan is suitable for people who don’t message a lot, and want to reduce the cost per SMS sent. The validity of the pack is for 30 days. Even if you send only 1 message per day, it will cost you 18 rupees per month without the pack. And if you get this pack activated you’ll only consume Rs. 7.5 a month. So, better get this pack even if you only send a single message per day. The plan will really help you in reducing your monthly spends.
If you message a lot, you shouldn’t get this pack, instead switch to some other monthly pack with fixed number of free SMS because you’ll be charged more than what a normal pack with fixed free SMS costs.
Activation:
In order to activate this plan, you just need to do the following:
- Compose a new message.
- Type in RC6
- Send it to 121
Note:
- The plan might be available in other circles too. Contact your local customer care to check.
- You need to have at-least 8 rupees or more in your Prepaid Balance before sending the activation message.
- While sending the message, remember that there is no space in RC6.
- The pack will automatically be deactivated after 30 days. Keep an eye on your subscription period to avoid higher costs after the pack expires.
