sliding i was referring to touch, i mean it stuck i cannot access the menu or anything apart from receiving calls only, the touch mode isn’t working. this problem is re-occurring, it works for a min or a whole day then tomorrow it stuck, sometimes i have to leave the phone off for a week or so to get it working… help please!
I see you’re facing a bunch of problems. I too faced the problem of touchscreen getting locked down once in a while, but locking and unlocking the screen did the work for me.
Your problem is more severe and could be a hardware fault. Please go ahead and give Nokia Software Recovery tool a go. Chances are that a clean firmware install will fix it, if not, it is an hardware issue which will only be solved by taking it to a Nokia Care Center.

I have a new Nokia Asha 311, the problem is with the sliding, sometimes it stops functioning. firstly i was advised to remove the battery when this issue arises, it worked for a week then the problem started again and again. sometimes i would leave the phone off for weeks then when i re-start it works perfectly but after a while the sliding problem re-occur. some tell me that it maybe the problem with a sliding sensor. please help me, am not in reach of Nokia shop for repair or flashing. what might be a problem behind this????

Do you have access to a PC? Try using Nokia Software Recovery Tool.
I cant guess a reason why it happens, so try using that if it helps.

go in to my menu to open up nokia store it then says i need to update it then brings up the link to download the updated version but when i click on update it just says link not available so am not able to go onto nokia store any ideas why
In 90% of the cases, the culprit is your connection. Do you have access to Wio-Fi, if so, try updating using Wi-Fi.
Download Nokia Suite and install on ur pc. plug in the usb and connect to phone. update from inside nokia suite, thats how i did mines

Using gif file is not possible because the system does not support it. It will be converted to a stable image before its added to the lockscreen.

sir can you upload a video tutorial how to use nokia carbide for making themes for asha 311? coz i try to make one but once i use it on my phone the home icon does not work as it should.
Carbide has no way to edit the homescreen icons of these phones. If you want, you need to manually edit some tags in the theme’s xml to include a small set of icons. But mind it, all icons can’t be replaced. Maybe only 5-6 can be.

I have recently upgraded my Nokia Asha 311 from version 5.92 to 7.36 by using the updates option in settings. But after that when I opened whatsapp it stopped while agreement of license and from then none of my applications is starting. They seem to open but they donโt. even my internet browser isnโt working. Please help.
Your phone needs a firmware re-install. Consider visiting a nearby Nokia Care Center.

Yes! One thing that you can try is re-installing the phone’s firmwre using Nokia Suite on your PC. There’s a little chance that it will work.
If not, because it really needs a complete firmware re-install, it needs to be done. Now either visit a Nokia Care Center, or else you can download some pirated versions of tools used by Nokia Care and flash it yourself.
Thank you Sir! But I have encountered another problem. The updated software’s size is 145 mb while I can have maximum upto only 67 mb on my phone memory. I can’t use a memory card as the slot for the memory card is broken. Is there any way to change my version from 7.36 to the older one of 5.92? or is there any way to use this version without any problem? Please help.
The firmware is not stored on the user accessible phone memory except the addition image files. So it will install normally.
Don’t forget to backup your phone data before installing the update.

Ah.. Can you try by manually typing in that address in the Xpress browser? I just tried in Nokia Xpress and it worked both ways, by clicking on the link as well as by typing the link out. There might be an issue with your location or maybe your IP is blocked out? :/ IDK, but this link is fine.

Facebook Push notifications are working on the accounts on which its enabled. For me, it works in my old account, but not in the present (new) account. Its a bug with Facebook and sadly there’s now way to enable it if the option does not show up in the FB App’s Settings when you login.
