Tata Docomo GET – Make Free Calls by Watching Advertisements

Tata Docomo has been continuously driving in some innovation in the Indian telecom sector. Continuing on the same steeps, Tata Docomo has launched a new service called “Tata Docomo Get” which provides you with free calling minutes when you watch a video advertisement before connecting the call.

Tata Docomo introduces GET - GetEasyTalktime, a unique service that gives you a free minute of Local / National talktime for just watching an ad on your mobile phone.

How Tata Docomo GET (Get Easy Talktime) Works

docomo GET intro

As the service is named GET i.e. Get Easy Talktime, its pretty simple and easy to get free calling minutes. All you need to is to watch the advertisement which plays up before you make the call and you’ll be credited with 1 free minute of calling. Here’s how it works step by step.

  1. Download the GET Application which is powered by m-AdCall.
  2. Upon opening the application for the first time, you’ll be prompted to enter some demographic details like your Gender and Birth Year to get yourself registered.
  3. After that its an easy job. Just enter the number which you want to call (you do have the choice of opening the phone book and choose a contact) and proceed.
  4. The next screen will ask you if you wanna make a free call or a paid call. If you choose free call, a video advertisement will show up and you’ll have 1 free minute of calling after watching the complete advertisement. On the other hand if you choose paid call, normal calling will take place and you won’t receive any free minutes.

Download the GET Application

To download the application, just send an SMS from your phone with the content FREE to 53333. You’ll shortly receive an SMS with the download link for the App.

App is presently available for Android, Symbian, Blackberry and Java handsets and will be rolled out to other popular platforms in the future.

Here’s an introductory video about how to use the Tata Docomo GET service

The app is said to offer 1 minute of free calling per call, but I was able to get over 5 minutes of continuous calling by watching the advertisement and then not initiating the call afterwards. This way its easy to make continuous calls of over 10-15 minutes, but all depends on the number of advertisements you receive. I’ve received over 15 advertisements to watch today :D

The service is also coming to Airtel and MTS very soon :)

Yeah. But ads are fairly low some days and most of the ads are from HTC. HTC can’t spend on TV adverts, but has money for these? :O

I’ve zipped the jar and jad files and uploaded them here. These are the signed versions. Extract it and copy to your phone to install.

Thanks for the jar & jad file, it is working in Nokia Asha 501…. The direct link for this was not working. Thanks once again

501 is kinda a different phone than the rest of the Asha phones. It can’t install apps as easily as the older phones used to.

Yeah u r right. I have noticed that if there is signed version of an application with jar and jad file then it has no problem in installing.
